I just have to share this one with you!
A Polish immigrant had to go to Benoni licencing department to apply for a driver’s licence.
First, of course, he went to an optician to take an eyesight test. The optician showed him a card with the letters: CZWIXNOSTACZ.
“Can you read this?” the optician asked.
“Read it?” the Polish immigrant replied. “I KNOW THE GUY”
OK, not a bridge joke, but we come across so many different nationalities on BBO, I thought you’d appreciate it.
Last night”s results were so close we almost had to cut the proverbial baby in half to come to a conclusion. But, thankfully, no such action was required because the program does all that for us, so there are no arguments afterwards.
However, the winners, Bill and Jan, came slithering in on the very last hand, winning by one solitary matchpoint. Up to that last hand, Lisa and Trish looked like winning, then ended up second.
Ah, such is life at Benoni Northerns Bridge Club.
Then came Di and Barbara, Ros and Cathy, and the rest of us in close pursuit.
We still need a few more pairs for the club championship, and as you know, we’re aiming at 12 tables. If we reach 12, we’ll have to cut off at this number, because we only have 12 Bridgemates! So, get your entries in. We will have a printer on line to give you personal scoresheets and you’ll get a lunchtime update, followed by results available at end of play.
Don’t miss it!
