“There is a tide in the affairs of men,
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat…..”
OK, what’s this all about? Well, the Bard said it nearly six hundred years ago, but it rings true every time one considers it. Take yesterday, for instance. Sometimes there is a definite kind of flow in the types of hands one picks up and you are able to bid successfully and compete with fervour, leading directly towards positive results and, more importantly, positive thoughts.
Conversely, there are days when the tide is going out(apologies William) and when your little boat is floating out to sea, without a rudder. These days are better forgotten and put aside, never to be contemplated again. Never again!
Yesterday’s results? Oh yes, you want to see what happened, don’t you?
That excellent pair of Helen and Barbara did it again! Obviously their tide was flowing in the right direction, because they had an excellent result of 62.5%, followed by Bill and Roz, who dead heated with Paul and Bridie. Just a comment also about Jennifer and Sandy, who have only just joined us from Lisa’s Monday classes, who finished at just under 50%, which was an excellent result.
Thanks to all of you for putting up with my deep, deep contemplation of life and times and the state of bridge in Benoni and all such serious matters. We move on now towards next week and whatever it brings. Hopefully the tide will be in our favour..
All the best. Love you guys.
