Bridge Results 18 May 2017

OK, OK, so the room was crowded, the battery charger for the computer played up, the server batteries were going flat, the bridgemates weren’t managing to send your table results through and the hands were challenging.

Did I miss anything?

But did I mention that I don’t have a social life, have nothing else to do but load results manually, all night, until my wrists seize up through carpal tunnel syndrome and, finally, at midnight, will have to walk Troy because he missed his early evening ablutions.

No, really, it’s not that bad, really.

I’m going out tomorrow morning to buy 28 Duracell batteries and I’ll pay another visit to Matrix Computers to check whether we should put our laptop out to graze. Otherwise, the results are as attached, and guess what, Peter and Priscilla came roaring in to win today, with yours truly and Bram second, despite all the shenanigans with tables having the wrong bridgemates, computer problems, batteries etc, etc. But I did mention that, didn’t I.

Goodnight, all you nice people. Please forgive my diatribe, but it does tend to try one’s patience, just a little bit. But, believe me, this game we play is worth it!

All the very best until next week.

Update

Along with the little problems that arose yesterday, there was this tiny one that escaped everyone, except for Priscilla and Paul.

Priscilla emailed me to say they weren’t pair 16, but pair 2. This was as a result of the incorrect bridgemates being allocated to tables 5 and 6.
So, the small change is simply that of who actually won yesterday, which was Mary and Lisa, not Priscilla and Peter!
Then, there was a small change on board 16, where the players’ numbers were incorrectly recorded, so I thank Paul for that, and I’ve changed it.
I’d like to be more humorous about these little gremlins, but I’m also gnashing my teeth about things that make me look inefficient, so I’m just signing off now for the weekend.
