Bridge
Bridge Results 20 Nov 2018
There were four tables last night, a little quieter after the ten tables of Saturday, no Mitchell movement followed by an Interwoven Howell, no Camembert with walnuts, none of the delicious grapes, the curry and rice!
Oh well, back to earth, but what a pleasant evening of bridge, played in a laid back fashion by friendly people, the hard core of Tuesday regulars.
The winners on the night were Bridie and Paul, followed by Tor and Cathy, then Ian and myself.
There were three slams on offer, with Cathy and Tor bidding two of them, one against us! The hands were interesting, with reasonably good distribution, unlike some of the monsters of Saturday! How about the two hands in succession, where West opened 2 Spades and both times North had all the rest of the Spades, sitting over West like a vulture. Ouch…! Double…!
I’ll see most of you tomorrow, so it’s goodbye for now, time to rest and read a good book. It won’t be bridge today, just a Tom Clancy that I’m reading for the second time. Great writing.
